As many of you know, over the past few years, I have been working hard through the Building Better Revitalized Neighbourhoods project to promote a new vision for Heatherington. One that aims to build upon the livability, vibrancy and health of the community.
As a result of our efforts, we have seen a tremendous amount of progress including a new state of the art Community Kitchen and breaking ground on a new SENS RINK.
The SENS Rink will help to promote healthy and active lifestyles through play. It will be a place where kids can meet up, be outdoors, and enjoy sport. It will be another element in this neighbourhood that will bring community and families together which is fundamental to the long-term health of a community.
Today, I am thrilled to announce that the Ottawa Senators Foundation will be officially opening the new SENS RINK in Heatherington Park! On Thursday February 1st at 10:30 a.m. I invite you to join me and the Ottawa Senators Foundation in celebrating this exciting milestone.
I want to express my deepest appreciation to the Ottawa Senators Foundation for all of the work that you do to empower youth and children and for your investments in recreation in our city.
See you there!
